I grew up on the family farm helping since the age of 7 with my mums horses and dogs. In my 20’s I went to work in America during the 1980’s and came back in 89. I then went to work at Top hat kennels in Hampton in Arden, this was a large quarantine boarding kennels with 300 dogs and 100 cats five of us looked after all this! while there i thought i could do a far better job. Researching i found that virtually no kennels walked there customers dogs even though they said they did, about this time the vets running the kennels on my family’s farm gave them up,i persuaded my father that there was a need for good kennels in the Redditch area.
We bulldozed the site and totally rebuilt to the highest standards our first block opening in 1991. I was probably the youngest kennel owner at 29. since then i have now gone on to get professional qualifications. I was studying for five years, being awarded top student in 2008 at Warwickshire college in animal care and management, the college used me to promote Apprenticeships speaking on BBC radio and having breakfast with Ed Balls, John Denham and Lord Sugar. I am now recognized by the pet care trust as an accredited pet care professional, me being one of less than 10 kennels listed in the whole of UK,and i’m the only kennel owner, I graduated at a ceremony in London in 2013
